Younwu Lee (Newmoon) is a New media artist. She studies Film & New media in The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She constantly challenges herself to mix different genres of art. Younwu Lee started art to abandon the image of reality but to create an ideal fantastical world. She has been creating lots of dreamy portraits and illustrations. From 2019, she started creating 3D artworks to construct a detailed ideal dreamland. Most of her artworks share a theme of a fairy tale, alter-ego, and imagination. The exhibition was planned to invite the audience to her dream world.


뉴문(Newmoon)은 미국과 한국을 기반으로 활동중인 뉴미디어 아티스트이다.

주로 일상적인 소재에 동화적인 요소들을 결합하여 새로운 이상세계의 모습을 구축한다. 그는 우리 주위에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 도시의 풍경을 3D 기술을 활용하여 재현하고,이를 기하학적인 조형물 그리고 미래적인 색체와 배합하여 새로운 풍경으로 재창조한다.

멀리서 보면 아름답기만한 상상 속의 풍경화처럼 보이지만,가까이 다가설수록 나타나는 현실적인 도시의 모습은 우리에게 이상세계의 이면에 대해서 질문한다. 결국 그의 작품은 우리가 동경하는 동화도 현실에 상상력을 더하여 만들어진 현실세계라는 사실을 환기시킨다.

상상력으로 현실이 동화가 되는 세상을 꿈꾸면서 그는 이번 전시 Enchanted kingdom을 통해서 관람객들을 꿈에 세계로 초대하고자 한다.
